Ah, the Eightfold Longblade. The finest weapon in Hyrule. Or my personal favourite, at least. (My obsession with them, while already well established, only got worse after I started watching Bleach, where the majority of the characters wield a similarly styled katana.)

What better way to outline their majesty than a lightning strike lurid against a dark sky? Between one of my favourite armour sets (the Charged set) in its full stormy glory and this great weapon of the Sheikah, this image is spectacular, befitting the last days of an advent calendar.

I’m slightly annoyed that the Yiga are now using these beautiful swords, but I’m also grateful that there’s more than one of these that spawns in the entire game. In Breath of the Wild, you could only find such a sword in the hands of one single Lizalfos on the Samasa Plain, and even then some blood moons it wouldn’t spawn at all. So naturally I refused to use them and just let them sit in my inventory looking fabulous.
