It turns out there’s one place a horde of angry Gloom Hands can’t get to you at.
And that is atop one of the ‘Zonai’ pillars in the Faron rainforest. (I don’t care what the in game subtitles say, the rainforest is a part of Faron.)
Of course, that didn’t deactivate the hands, which were still swarming with an angry vengeance around the pillar’s base. Their rage kept the sky lit crimson, which I decided was a perfect time to pull something out of my inventory to strike a dramatic pose against the ominous sky. What should I find but a clean and sparkly Gerudo scimitar, ready to slide into my compendium?
In this picture, Link’s eyes are half-closed again. It must be a new mechanic they added for Tears of the Kingdom, and I am a big fan. Maybe the red sky is hard on poor Link’s eyes so he needs to squint?
This image was taken at Ubota Point in the Faron rainforests, where I was blissfully unaware of the presence of Gloom Hands until it was, woefully, too late. Like with the other posts in this series, if you were also none the wiser about them being there, take heed. Pin a skull on your map there so you don’t get startled off the couch like I do every time I discover a new set.
