Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everyone! However you’ve decided to spend your day, I hope it finds you well. My sweet doll Queenie has decided to dress up as a Hogwarts student, in hopes that she’ll get a treat or ten. (She has a trick planned for those who don’t oblige, as you can see in the following image.) She’ll probably demand a fee of candy for appearing in this blog post, which might not be due enough compensation for the neverending racket her sisters will make when they find out that she’s the first one to appear here. (You’ll see the others soon enough—don’t worry!)

Queenie seems to think that you get more treats with violence than with kindness.

October is drawing to a close, and the cold months are almost upon us. (We had the first snowfall of the season yesterday! It’s all melted now, though.) Never fear: I have a full lineup of posts in the works for November, starting with my very first Bleach post, just in time for a certain Quincy’s birthday…

I also have a little holiday surprise planned for December! I’ve been stashing up ideas like a bear preparing for hibernation, with the hope to bring some extra excitement to the dreary winter months.

I’ve been getting a little bit into the spooky mood the last few days. I’m not really one for horror, but it was a great opportunity to rewatch some appropriately ambient X-Files episodes! Oddly enough, one of them prominently featured a murderous doll. Perhaps there’s a theme to what sorts of spookiness I enjoy. It’s been nice to relive some of Mulder and Scully’s wild adventures.

The big Halloween event for me, though, is tonight. It’s somewhat of a seasonal tradition in our house to watch the movie Sleepy Hollow on or around the day, and although I’ve watched the movie several times I still love settling in to watch, sparing an occasional thought to Sheila Tubman from Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great whenever the Headless Horseman rides across the screen.

Have a good Halloween—just be vigilant to make sure that no vengeful headless horseman or violent sugar-starved doll catches you off guard!

      2. The X Files is a wonderful series! I’m not surprised, it’s always fun to rewatch an episode.
